These Terms & Conditions apply to all services provided by Top Form Veterinary Physiotherapy. By booking an appointment or using this website, you agree to the following terms.
Veterinary Referral and Consent
Physiotherapy treatment for animals is carried out in accordance with UK legislation and professional standards.

Veterinary consent is required before physiotherapy treatment can begin.

Physiotherapy does not replace assessment, diagnosis, or treatment by a veterinary surgeon.

Where concerns are identified, referral back to your vet will be advised before any further treatment.
Mobility and performance assessments are assessment-only appointments and do not replace veterinary assessment.
Appointments
Appointments are booked by prior arrangement.

Initial consultations involve a full assessment and, where appropriate, treatment.

Follow-up appointments are used to continue treatment and reassess progress.

Mobility and performance appointments are assessment-based only and do not include treatment.
The physiotherapist reserves the right to modify or discontinue a session if it is not safe or appropriate to proceed.
Fees and Payment

Fees are payable as advertised or agreed at the time of booking.

Payment is due on the day of the appointment unless otherwise agreed in advance.

Laser therapy packages must be paid for in advance and are non-transferable.
Prices may be reviewed periodically and are subject to change.
Cancellations and Missed Appointments

A minimum of 24 hours’ notice is required for appointment cancellations or rescheduling.

Appointments cancelled with less than 24 hours’ notice, or missed appointments, may be charged in full.

Appointments cancelled with 48-24 hours’ notice, may be charged 1/2 the appointment fee.

Exceptional circumstances will be considered at the discretion of the physiotherapist.
Animal Welfare and Safety
The welfare of the animal is always the top priority.

Treatment will only be carried out if the animal is deemed suitable and safe to handle.

Owners or handlers are responsible for ensuring animals are appropriately restrained and handled during sessions.

The physiotherapist reserves the right to stop treatment if an animal becomes distressed or unsafe.
Owner Responsibilities
Clients are responsible for:

Providing accurate and complete information about their animal’s health and history

Informing the physiotherapist of any changes in health, medication, or veterinary advice

Following home exercise and aftercare advice safely and appropriately
Top Form Veterinary Physiotherapy cannot be held responsible for injury or deterioration resulting from failure to follow professional advice.
Travel and Mileage

Appointments may be subject to a travel or mileage fee, depending on location.

Any applicable travel fees will be confirmed at the time of booking.

Travel fees are non-refundable once the appointment has taken place.
Weather and Yard Access (Equine Appointments)

For equine appointments, clients are responsible for ensuring safe and suitable access to the horse and an appropriate area for assessment and treatment.

Appointments may be postponed or modified due to adverse weather conditions, unsafe footing, inadequate shelter, poor visibility, or horses are too dirty to perform treatment.

If an appointment cannot proceed due to unsafe conditions or lack of suitable access, the appointment may be treated as a late cancellation.
Late Arrivals

If you arrive late or the animal is not ready at the scheduled appointment time, the session may be shortened to avoid disruption to subsequent appointments.

The full appointment fee may still apply.

If the appointment cannot go ahead due to late arrival or lack of readiness, it may be treated as a missed appointment.
Electrotherapies
Electrotherapies may be used as part of a physiotherapy treatment plan where appropriate. These may include, but are not limited to, laser therapy, pulsed electromagnetic therapy and other evidence-based modalities.

Electrotherapies are non-invasive and are used to support pain relief, tissue healing, and rehabilitation where clinically appropriate.

Electrotherapies do not replace veterinary diagnosis or treatment and are only used with appropriate veterinary consent.

The suitability of which electrotherapies will be assessed on an individual basis, and treatment may be modified or discontinued if it is not safe or appropriate to proceed.

Protective equipment (such as eye protection) must be worn where required, and client cooperation is expected during treatment.

No guarantee can be given regarding treatment outcomes, as response varies between individuals.

Electrotherapy packages must be paid for in advance, are non-transferable, and are intended to be used within a reasonable timeframe. Unused sessions may expire.
Contraindications
Electrotherapies will not be used where contraindicated.

Contraindications may include, but are not limited to, active infection, tumours, pregnancy (where relevant), open wounds where unsuitable, sensory deficits, implanted electronic devices, or any condition where electrotherapies may pose a risk.

It is the owner’s responsibility to inform the physiotherapist of any known medical conditions, recent changes in health, or veterinary advice that may affect treatment suitability.

If contraindications are identified at any stage, electrotherapies will not be carried out and referral back to the veterinary surgeon may be recommended.
Liability
All reasonable care is taken during assessment and treatment.

Physiotherapy is carried out in line with professional standards and current evidence-based practice.

No guarantee can be given regarding treatment outcomes.

Top Form Veterinary Physiotherapy will not be held liable for pre-existing conditions or unforeseen complications.
Nothing in these Terms & Conditions limits liability where it cannot legally be excluded.
Privacy and Data Protection
Personal data is handled in accordance with UK data protection legislation.
