Treatment will be tailored to your horse on the day and may include manual therapy, soft tissue techniques, stretches, exercises, or other physiotherapy modalities as appropriate. You will also receive clear advice on exercises, management, and aftercare to support your horse between sessions.

Performance & Mobility Assesment

If any concerns are identified, referral back to your vet will be recommended, and future physiotherapy or management may be advised following veterinary approval.

FAQs

1 / Do I need a veterinary referral?

Yes. Veterinary consent is required before physiotherapy treatment can begin. If your horse has not been seen by a vet, I can advise on whether a veterinary assessment is needed first.

2 / What should I expect at the first appointment?

The initial session involves a full assessment of your horse at rest and in movement, followed by appropriate physiotherapy treatment if veterinary consent is in place. You will also receive aftercare and exercise advice.

3 / How many sessions will my horse need?

This varies depending on the issue, workload, and response to treatment. Some horses improve quickly, while others benefit from a course of treatment or ongoing maintenance.

4 / Do you treat competition horses?

Yes. Physiotherapy can be used to support comfort, recovery, and performance in horses in regular work or competition, alongside appropriate veterinary care.

5 / Can physiotherapy replace veterinary treatment?

No. Physiotherapy does not replace veterinary diagnosis or treatment and works alongside your vet as part of a multidisciplinary approach.
